Conner Goes To GIA School
If you’re a loyal customer of Bere´ Jewelers, you probably remember seeing Conner helping out around the store since he was a young boy. It all started at the bright age of fourteen when Laura and Barry gave him his first job. For years he cleaned cases, helped with maintenance tasks, and kept the back rooms organized. While they weren’t always the most exciting tasks in the world, it was his first glimpse into the jewelry industry… An industry he would soon grow to love.
As Conner made his way through high school and college, his role at Bere´ Jewelers continued to evolve. He tackled the sales floor, became intimately familiar with our top designers (such as Pandora), developed an interest in business management, and, just recently decided to take his passion for jewelry to the next level. Join us in congratulating Conner as he prepares to obtain his Graduate Gemologist degree at The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) School!
This August through April of next year, Conner will be spending 35 hours per week in the GIA lab studying diamonds and other precious gemstones. During this intensive program he’ll learn about the unique properties of each stone, how to accurately appraise them, and how to help customers choose the right product. Most importantly – he’ll complete his program as a Graduate Gemologist! You better believe the entire staff at Bere´ Jewelers is already proud!
If you see Conner around the store before August 31st be sure to wish him luck on this amazing adventure. When we asked him what he was most excited about, his response was, “One – to provide the highest level of expertise to our clients, and two – the opportunity to live in Southern California for a while!” I guess we can’t blame him, even though we all know the Gulf Coast life is best!
